Study Abroad in Wellington

Wellington is located on the southern tip of the North Island and is New Zealand’s capital city. Wellington is the seat of New Zealand’s government and the headquarters of national organizations such as the New Zealand Stock Exchange, the Reserve Bank, the Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa), the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and the National Opera.

Well known for a vibrant creative culture fueled by great food, wine, craft beer, coffee, art, events and festivals, Wellington is a cosmopolitan city with a lively personality. A recent survey by Deutsche Bank named Wellington the world’s most livable city!

Often compared to U.S. cities such as Seattle and Portland due to its climate and culture, Wellington has all of the charms of a smaller European city with the beauty of New Zealand’s flora and fauna. Wellington’s residents take advantage of the close access to the sea – almost all of the city’s population lives within 2 miles of the coastline.
