Academic Program

TOTAL CREDITS AVAILABLE PER TERM

3-6 semester credits per session

Students who choose to study abroad in Paris with API in the French Language Studies Program complete a combination of French language and phonetics courses. The average class size is twenty students. A student’s French level is determined by an online placement exam administered before arrival by the CCFS.

Students may take 3 semester credits in the summer 1 or summer 2 terms, OR take up to 6 semester credits for the summer 2 term.

Intermediate and advanced level students who wish to take French civilization lectures may do so only during the summer 2 session.

SUMMER 2 (INTENSIVE OPTION)

Students have the option of taking up to 4 hours of language and 1 hour of phonetics (for a total of 100 contact hours, 6 overall semester credits) for an additional fee.

TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts are issued by the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne. If a student’s home university requires a U.S. school of record, they can receive a transcript from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for an additional fee.
