Winter/Spring

HARLAXTON MANOR

Escaping to the countryside, students will experience what life is like at a stately Manor House.  They will spend an afternoon at Harlaxton Manor, where they will take a tour of the manor and learn more about the history of the buildings. In addition to this, students will be treated to Afternoon Tea in the Conservatory and enjoy a very English lawn sport, Croquet in the grounds of the manor.  This is an exclusive excursion just for API as Harlaxton Manor is usually closed to the public.

THE HARRY POTTER STUDIO TOUR

The Harry Potter Studio Tour London provides a unique showcase of the extraordinary British artistry, technology and talent that went into making one of the most successful film series of all time. Students have the chance to go behind-the-scenes and see many things the camera never showed. From breathtakingly detailed sets to stunning costumes, to props and animatronics. Students explore a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props. Some closely guarded secrets, including facts about the special effects and animatronics, will be revealed.

PARIS
INTERNATIONAL EXCURSION

One of the most intriguing cities in the world, Paris is brimming with amazing museums, architecture, fashion, and beauty. Innumerable monuments built to reflect the glory of France and its rulers stand testament to the city’s rich history.

STRATFORD AND WARWICK CASTLE

Stratford-Upon-Avon is one of the most historic and picturesque towns in the UK , beautifully preserved since Shakespeare’s day. Dating back to the 13th century, Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare and his wife are buried, has copies of Shakespeare’s baptismal and burial records. Warwick Castle was the home of the Earls of Warwick until recently and is one of the most complete and dramatic medieval castles in England.

PARIS, FRANCE
INTERNATIONAL EXCURSION

One of the most intriguing cities in the world, Paris is brimming with amazing museums, architecture, fashion, and beauty. Innumerable monuments built to reflect the glory of France and its rulers stand testament to the city’s rich history.

STONEHENGE AND BATH

At 5,000 years old, Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument that still baffles scientists and historians who ponder over the reasons for its construction. See for yourself the huge size of the stones and imagine how difficult it was to build in the days before machinery, especially bearing in mind that many of the stones were dragged thousands of miles across the country. Students will also visit the stunningly beautiful town of Bath, with its gorgeous Roman and Georgian architecture.

WALES WEEKEND

Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere else in the world. Every hill, church or standing stone has a story all of its own. Cardiff, the capital city is the location of many Dr. Who scenes, and the Welsh countryside is home to picturesque abbeys and castles painted by many artists through the centuries.
