The Challenge

API is calling all students – past and present – to create a video submission for the API Video Challenge. We want to see a video that encapsulates your study abroad experience!

Video Challenge Theme

“My Neighborhood Abroad.”

Your video challenge submission should showcase your home away from home; your neighborhood abroad! We want to see what a day in the life is like: your commute, your favorite stores/delis/coffee shops/markets, the people, transportation, etc.

Eligibility

The Challenge is open to API students who have A: Completed an API program and/or B: Are currently participating in an API program.

Video length: 2 – 5 minutes

Video style: Stop motion, scripted, spur of the moment, mini documentary, video mashup – the choice is yours!

How To Enter

The Prize

  • 1st place: $250
  • 2nd place: $150
  • Honorable Mention: feature on API website & various new media profiles

Selecting A Winner

A panel of API staff members will view all submissions to determine the video contest winner. Winner will be alerted via email. Announcements will be published on API social media profiles.

Terms & Conditions

By entering the Video Challenge, applicants agree to the following: To qualify, videos may not contain content that is inappropriate, indecent or obscene. Video submissions must NOT include images/video of alcohol or the consumption of alcoholic beverages. By participating in the API Video Challenge, applicants give API the right to use and reproduce video submission for marketing purposes or other media. Applicants must abide by licensing and copyright law and have used content not restricted by copyright. This includes but is not limited to: music, photos, and video. Should an applicant infringe upon a copyright, API will not be responsible and applicant will solely face potential consequences. All video submissions that do not comply with the video contest guidelines are subject to disqualification.
