API Study Abroad Photo and Video Contests
How many photos/videos did you take while you were abroad? Just a few? Hundreds? Thousands? We’d love for you to share a few of your best photos with API.
We are currently accepting entries for the spring 2013 contest through July 30, 2013.
This photo contest round will be conducted on *Instagram! We encourage you to take and upload your images to Instagram, and be sure to tag them with the hashtags #APIphotocontest and #APIstudyabroad. In the comments, make sure to include: your first name & last initial, host city, term and year abroad.
*If you do not have an Instagram account, you may upload your photo(s) below. API will upload the photo(s) on your behalf.
We are also conducting our first video contest on Vine! Vine is a mobile app developed by Twitter that allows users to create and share short 6 second stop-motion videos directly from their mobile device. We encourage you to take and upload your creative videos to Vine, and be sure to tag them with the hashtags #studyabroad, #APIvideocontest and #APIstudyabroad. In the comments, make sure to include: your first name & last initial, host city, term and year abroad.

API has an Instagram profile with fun and whimsical photos of API study abroad experiences. Look for us at @APIstudyabroad, and feel free to tag your photos with the hashtags #APIstudyabroad, #APIphotocontest, or #studyabroad.

API has a Flickr page which often features student, alumni, and staff photos. We also create photo “sets” on Flickr for current and past photo contests, as well as special projects. Finally, we have an APIstudyabroad groupon Flickr which students may join and directly upload photos of their study abroad experience with API.
APIstudyabroad on Facebook
API features dozens of photo albums on Facebook, many sourced with student-contributed content. In addition to the albums on the main Page, students often upload photos into their respective (private) API Groups and the API Alumni Group.

API’s Tumblr blogoften posts or re-blogs photos and content from our study abroad students.

API regularly “pins” student photos on our Pinterest boards.
API TV
The API TV channel is a page within the API website featuring videos made by students and staff of their study abroad experiences. It also hosts the API Video Challenge winning video entries.

API often showcases creative, exceptional, and motivational student videos on our YouTube channel. If you have videos from your trip that you’d like to consider for submission on the official API YouTube channel, please contact us directly.

If a submitted photo contains objectionable material, API reserves the right to modify or deny the submission. This includes but is not limited to: inappropriate, indecent, and/or obscene content. Photos may not include language/images of alcohol. All photo submissions must be original work and abide by licensing and copyright laws. Should a photo contest entrant infringe upon a copyright, API will not be responsible. All submissions that do not comply with API photo contest guidelines are subject to disqualification. Participants must be current or former API students.
